Obituary

Patrick Jon Landis, age 56, of Whitehall, passed away Monday, August 22, 2016 at home in the presence of his family and friends. He was born November 6, 1959 in Muskegon to Robert and Dora (Bahr) Landis.

Patrick was raised in Whitehall and graduated from Whitehall High School in 1978. He met his true love Judy Siedenstrang in 1975 and the two were married on March 14, 1980. He was co-owner of Bob's Roofing and a former Whitehall City Councilman. Patrick loved the Lord and was an active member of St. James Lutheran Church in Montague. He joined the Air National Guard in 1978 and served for eight years.

Pat enjoyed his annual deer hunt in Nebraska with "the dog" and loved to spend time with family and friends at his river house kayaking.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; his daughters, Tonya Colby Landis, Jillian (James) Eppard and Jessica (Esteban) Valenzuela; his grandchildren, Jacob Horn, Samantha Horn, Hayley Smith, Alaynah Smith, Curtis Eppard, Coleton Eppard, Patrick Landis II, Daniel Abrahamson, Michael Fekken, Esteban Valenzuela II and Eleanor Valenzuela; five great-grandchildren with one on the way; father, Robert Landis; brothers, Robert (Eve) Landis, Ron (Kathleen) Landis, Phillip (Susan) Landis; sister, Pam (Ken) Elliott; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Terrah Sue Landis; mother, Dora; brothers, Forrest and Roland Landis and sister, Judi Slocum.

Visitation is Friday, August 26th, 6-8 pm at St. James Lutheran Church in Montague. The memorial service will be held Saturday, August 27th, 11 am at St. James Lutheran Church with Pastor John Brooks officiating. Interment will be in Oakhurst Cemetery in Whitehall. Memorials may be directed to either the Mercy Health Partners Johnson Family Cancer Center, 1440 E. Sherman Blvd, Muskegon, MI 49444 or Harbor Hospice, 1050 W.
