Mitchell Alvin
Cosselman
August 28, 1956 – March 15, 2023
Mitchell "Mitch" Alvin Cosselman, 66, of Shelby, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023. He was born August 28, 1956, in Ypsilanti, the son of Alvin and Eleanor (Wagner) Cosselman.
Mitch was a loving father, brother, and grandfather; a fierce friend and loved one. For over the last 15 years he had been an auction manager for Lyons Auctions. He traveled to many states in his profession.
Mitch's love for the outdoors was infectious; he especially loved Alaska, going on vacation to Drummond Island, hunting, and fishing. His adventurous spirit led him to many places. As a young man he travelled across the State of Michigan on horseback. Mitch loved animals and even had some of the craziest pets, including a couple 8-foot Burmese pythons, rattlesnakes, ferret, buffalo, raccoons, a crow, a skunk, and numerous dogs. He loved to read and was always learning.
Mitch had a big heart and always stood up for the underdog; he would help others out even when he was in pain. Mitch loved the Lord, telling of his compassion and grace. He will be greatly missed.
Mitch is survived by: daughter, Shiloh (Chaunce) Cook; sons, Jeremiah (Cathy) Cosselman, Jacob Cosselman, and Caleb Cosselman; stepdaughter, Justyn Siwanowicz,; stepson, Richard McDermott; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Susan (Larry) Schrauger; good friend, Janice Cosselman; a special young man named, Josiah, that Mitch considered one of his own; and many more friends and loved ones.
Mitch was preceded in death by: his father, Alvin Cosselman; and mother, Eleanor (Wagner) Cosselman.
