Michelle Renee Pierson, 57, of Montague, passed away peacefully in her home May 12, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Shelby and raised in Montague, Michelle was a beautiful soul with a native spirit and a kind heart. She was a hardworking woman who found great joy in crafting, drawing, and painting. Also loved fishing on the White River and often out-fished us all.

Michelle is survived by: her daughter, Danielle (Josh Fernow); grandson, Colton Fernow; son, Dane Artman; brothers, Larry Romanelli, Ricky Stowers, and Jerry Pierson.

Michelle was preceded in death by: her mother, Ardith Pierson; father, Doug Pierson; sister, Debra Pierson; and brother, Randy Leffring.

Per her adamant wishes, there will be no public service or memorial. Instead, our family will be holding a private native ceremony to honor her life.
