Michael D. Kelly, age 77 of New Era, passed away Monday, May 6, 2019 in Muskegon, Michigan.  He was born January 1, 1942 in Grand Rapids, the son of John and Caroline (Goggin) Kelly.  Mike was raised in Shelby and graduated from Shelby High School in 1960.

He married Diane Henrickson on August 18, 1961.  He was employed in the Engineering Department at Howmet for many years before his retirement.  Mike was a member of New Era Reformed Church.  He loved the Lord, his family and animals.  He enjoyed taking care of his yard.  Mike also enjoyed fishing and boating.

He is survived by his wife Diane; his sons, Mick (Lori) Kelly and Jeff Kelly; his grandchildren, Lucas (Bethany) Kelly, Madison, Dustin, Ryan, Meghan, James and Asa Kelly.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Caroline.

Visitation is Thursday, May 9th, 6-8 pm at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby.  A memorial service will be held Friday, May 10th, 11 am at New Era Reformed Church with Pastor Rick Eschenburg officiating.  A luncheon at the church and interment at New Era Cemetery will follow.  Please consider Lakeshore Animal Shelter Support, Inc.
