Martha J. Lathers, age 86, of Hart, passed away Friday, September 6, 2019 in Shelby.  She was born May 10, 1933 in Hart to Willard and Marie (Andrews) Hanks.

Martha was raised in Hart and worked as a tailor/seamstress for Powers Clothing in Hart, Raven's Men's Wear in Ludington and from her home.  She loved to make baskets, taught ceramics and was an avid quilter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Lathers on January 13, 2010.  She is survived by her children, Ed (Kris) Kokx and Lynda Bailey; grandchildren, Sarah Domin, Ryan Kokx and Holly (Chad) Flanery; sister, Nancy Lee (Richard) Shermoen; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and several stepchildren and stepgrandchildren.

There will be no services.  Arrangements by Harris Funeral Home in Shelby.
