Mrs. Lorraine Edith David, age 83, of Hart, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022.  She was born May 5, 1938 in Mears, the daughter of John and Edith (Holcomb) Wheeler.

Lorraine graduated from Hart High School, continuing her education at Western Michigan University.  She graduated with a teaching degree, retuning to Hart where she taught for many years, retiring in 1993.  After retirement she spent a year traveling in Russia.  Once her travels were complete, Lorraine began volunteering at Hackley Hospital and at the Muskegon Pregnancy Services Center.  At first she did it alone, but after a few years Lorrain adopted a blind dog, Molly.  They became a team, traveling to the Hospital, pregnancy center, nursing homes and even with the visiting nurse service.  If you saw one of them the other was not far away.  Lorraine believed her work at the  Muskegon Pregnancy Services Center was her calling and enjoyed her time there.  Lorraine grew up in the West Golden Wesleyan Church, later joining the Friendship Wesleyan Church with her husband Roy David.  Lorraine loved Jesus as her Lord and Savior.  Knowing she is with her Heavenly Family now gives us all hope and peace.

Lorraine  is survived by; her children, Ken (Carol) Elenius, Patti (Ken) Raider and David (Patty) Day; sister, Mary (Tom) Deval; 11 grand children and 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy David; brothers, Paul, Arvid, David, Philip, Ila, Arlon; sisters, Mary and Lorraine.

A Celebration of life will be held from 4 PM until 7 PM, Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at the Harris Funeral Home, 267 N. Michigan Avenue, Shelby Michigan, 49445.  No services or burial will be held at this time.
