Leon Dean Twiss, 93, of Montague, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 29, 2026. He was born August 20, 1932, in Newaygo County, at the family farm, the son of Don and Shirely (Cole) Twiss.

Leon is survived by: his wife of 71 years, Leona (Stapel); children, Jill (Eric) McFadden, Dean (Robyn) Twiss, Heidi (Pat) Lombard, Amy (Steve) Elwell, Brad (Joyce) Twiss; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Twiss.

Leon was preceded in death by: his parents, Don and Shirley; sister, Edna Hittle.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 pm, Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Flower Creek Cemetery, 8750 S. 44th. Avenue, Montague, Michigan 49437, with immediate family.

Harris Funeral Home, in Shelby, is in charge of arrangements.
