Obituary

Joanne Bush, 77, from of Hart, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, at Optalis Health in Whitehall, Michigan, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Livonia, Michigan to her parents Samuel and Yolanda Frontiera on November 8, 1948.

She was a student at Franklin High School in Livonia and a graduate of Muskegon Community College and a student at Grand Valley University where she was a member of the orchestra. She married Carroll “Dutch” Bush on July 9, 1969. They remained married until his passing on November 15, 1984. She retired as a cook at Oceana County Medical Care facility in Hart, Michigan. She loved music and she was an incredible singer. She also enjoyed mushrooming and being outdoors.

Joanne was a member of New Hope Church in Shelby where she was active with the food pantry.

Joanne is survived by: her children, Raymond Bush, Aaron Bush and Sarah (Thomas) Suszka; grandchildren, Makayla Suszka, Dylan Suszka, Presley Suszka and Destiny Thorstein; sisters, Rosalie Minnella, Frances Davidson, Patricia Chambers, Dianne Lehning; brothers, Christoper Frontiera, Joseph Frontiera.

Joanne was proceeded in death by: her parents, Samuel and Yolanda Frontiera, husband, Carroll “Dutch” Bush; sister, Jeannette Funentes; brothers Lewis Frontiera, Samuel Frontiera, Walter Frontiera and Frank Frontiera.

Her graveside service will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Elbridge Township Cemetery, located at 2491 E Polk Rd, Hart, Michigan 49420. Her memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM at New Hope Church, located at 244 79th Ave, Shelby, Michigan.

Floral arrangement deliveries will be handled by White Lake Greenhouse (231) 894-9011; www.whitelakegreenhouse.com. Alternatively, flowers can be dropped off at New Hope Church after 10:00 AM on 09/12/26.
