Joan Baisden, age 89 of Pentwater, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at home.  She was born April 18, 1931 in Barnabas, West Virginia to Dock and Grace (Browning) Dotson. Joan was raised in Mingo County, West Virginia.  She married Don Baisden in 1947.  He passed away November 13, 2007.

Joan and Don lived in West Virginia for twenty years before moving to Taylor, Michigan.  They came to live in Pentwater Township approximately twenty years ago.  Mrs. Baisden attended the Church of Christ in Ludington.  She was beloved by friends and family and will be remembered for being humble and down to earth.

She is survived by her children, Don Baisden, Jr., Darlene (Bill) Kirk, Diane (Bill) Perkins, Krista (Lee) Adkins, Rodney (Christine) Baisden, and Steven (Ronda) Baisden; daughter-in-law, Debbie Baisden;  thirteen grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; her sister, Christine Stacey; and nieces and nephews.  Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Bobby Baisden, brother, Dana "Buddy" Dotson and sisters, Doris Miller and Muriel Estepp.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 12th, 2-4 pm at the Church of Christ in Ludington, 3816 West Fountain Road.  The funeral service will follow visitation at 4 pm on Saturday also at the church.  A meal will immediately follow the funeral at church.  She will be laid to rest on Sunday, December 13th, 2 pm at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manchester, MI next to her husband, Don.
