James D. Ackerberg, age 78, of Hesperia, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at home.  Jim was born October 15, 1942 to Frank and Eveline Ackerberg in Muskegon. He married Marie E. (Heeg) on January 21, 1967.

Jim was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Germany.  He was an OTR truck driver for 43 years, logging over 1,000,000 miles without a chargeable accident.  He farmed weekends on his 80 acres west of Hesperia.  He had up to a dozen cows raising their offspring for beef.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; his children, Greg (Licia) Ackerberg, Scott (Missy) Ackerberg and Rhonda (Mark) Moran; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Eloise (Harold) Gunderson, Carol Boersema and Frank (Terri) Ackerberg.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Christopher, daughter, Jaime Dee and sister, Marilyn Spring.

A gathering will be held Wednesday, May 5th from 1 to 3 pm at daughter, Rhonda's home, 1880 E. White Lake Drive, Twin Lake 49457.
