Frances L. Murray, age 82, of New Era, passed away Friday, November 27, 2020.  She was born July 6, 1938 in Detroit, to Mike and Mary (Neuens) Karfonta.

Frances spent part of her childhood in the Upper Peninsula before moving back to Detroit.  She married Clifford Murray on June 1, 1960.  As the wife of a Michigan State Police officer, they lived and raised their family in the greater Detroit area before moving to Ottawa County.  They lived in Ottawa County for many years before retiring and moving to New Era fifteen years ago.  She and her husband owned and operated a fishing resort on Beak Lake in Southwestern Ontario for many years.

Frances is survived by her husband, Clifford; sons, Jeffery (Mary) Murray and Brad Murray; grandsons, Ryan and Clayton Murray; brother, Robert; sisters, Irene and Celcia; and sisters-in-law, Helen, Fern and Shirley.

Private family services will be held for Frances.
