Florence Ermina
Prosser
March 29, 1918 – May 1, 2021
Florence Ermina Stier Prosser, age 103, of Surprise, Arizona, passed away May 1, 2021 at home. She was born March 29, 1918 in Shelby, Michigan, the daughter of Henry and Augusta Stier, the youngest of ten children. She married Joseph Alexander Prosser of Shelby on July 18, 1936. He preceded her in death in 1997 in Jackson, California.
She was proud to have visited all fifty of the United States, some numerous times. She lived in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Oregon, California, Florida and Arizona. She enjoyed travelling all her life crossing the USA many times over. She enjoyed baseball games, especially 23 years of Spring Training in Arizona. She loved her family, those living close and those living distant. She was especially proud to be a five-generation family and to be able to spend time with each of them this past year.
She is survived by her only daughter, Judith Arlene Prosser Malmstrom; granddaughters, Lisa Jo Banister (Steve) and Brita Arlene Salt (Daniel); her great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Flores Watzke (PJ), Jacob Flores, Kylie Flores and Jared Flores, Dylan Salt and Natalie Salt; and her great-great-grandsons, Hunter, Lucas and Brandon Watzke.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Prosser; son-in-law, Arthur Malmstrom in 2007; nine siblings and their respective spouses, Charlotte Ehlers (William), George Stier (Sophie), Clara Riebe (Fred), Robert Stier (Lillian), Amanda Goldsmith (Albert), Walter Stier (Harriet), Irene Birchfield (William Lee), John Stier and Elmer Stier (Catherine); numerous nieces and nephews from this larger-than-life Stier family, as well as the Prosser family of nine.
Still loving her until they die, many nieces and nephews of several generations who looked to her with utmost admiration and love.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 24th, 11 am at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby with a graveside service to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shelby.
Hospice of the Valley in Surprise, Arizona and San Juan Hospice of Manteca, California were outstanding caregivers and provided her with wonderful care during her trying days.
