Ernesto Eugene Rodriguez Jr., 30, of Shelby, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Ernie was born August 28, 1990, in Shelby, and graduated from Oceana High School, class of 2009.

Ernie had many interests, including video games, music, fixing things, including his car, art, which he loved to draw, and pizza, which was his favorite food. He also enjoyed playing basketball and wrestling. He was a fan of the Detroit Pistons, and loved being the uncle that would teach the kids wrestling moves. Ernie also liked to wear his hats to represent the teams he loved. Ernie was a loving father, son, brother, and uncle. He cherished the time he spent with his kids, and the rest of his family, especially his siblings that he was very close with.

Ernie is survived by: his children, Noah Quinn Rodriguez, Eli Josiah Rodriguez, and Lucas Eugene Rodriguez; mother, Raquel (Wesley) Pulsipher; grandparents, Laura and Roger Beggs; siblings, Staci Rodriguez, Scott (Daizy) Rodriguez, and Jonathan Vasquez; step-sisters, Tamara Alltop and Laurel Pulsipher; and nieces and nephews, Ariana, Aliyah, Imarylis, Erik Jr., Rolando, Gabriel, Mya, Isaiah, and Serena.

Ernie was preceded in death by: his father, Ernesto Rodriguez Sr.; grandparents, Raul and Conchita Rodriguez; uncles, Raul Rodriguez Jr. and Albert Rodriguez; and aunt, Olga Guardiola.

The Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 1:00 PM, Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Harris Funeral Home, 267 North Michigan Avenue, Shelby, MI 49455, with Rev. Daniel Schumaker of St. Gregory-Our Lady of Fatima presiding. Visitation will be held Thursday from 11:00 AM until time of services at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
