Dorothea Mae Haynes, 76, passed away peacefully June 28, 2026. She was born February 20, 1950, in Cedar Springs, the daughter of Allen and Ethel (Vanderhoef) Forbes.

Dorothea is survived by: her children, Rebecca (DJ) Right, Anna (Adam) Peterson, Jessica (Ken) Peterson; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 2, 2024, at Harris Funeral Home, 267 N. Michigan Ave. Shelby, MI 49455. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services. A procession to Hart Cemetery will take place following services to inter Dorothea, with a luncheon to follow at the Shelby Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1929 S 58th Ave, Shelby, MI 49455.
