Doris E. Bennett, age 100, of Shelby, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at Christian Care Nursing Center in Muskegon.  She was born January 23, 1920 in Gerrish Township, Roscommon County to Grover and Harriet (Fleming) Willett.

Doris married Russell Bennett on September 6, 1942.  He passed away on May 30, 2004. Doris had been employed at Howmet Corporation before her retirement.

She is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Jerry) Ballard, Carolyn (Robert) Jones and Calvin (Barbara) Bennett; her grandchildren, Michelle (John) Jones, Kristine Bennett-Rulli and her husband, Bob Rulli, Sheri (Paul) Warren, Rebecca Jones, Russell Jones and Dawn (Stanley) Swears; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by three brothers.

A graveside service will be announced in the spring of 2021. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shelby.
