Donald Jo Dashiell Jr. passed away on January 29, 2026. He was born November 7, 1960, in Austin, Texas, the son of Donald J. Sr. and Barbara A. (Leavitt) Dashiell.

Joe was a simple man who found happiness in the things that mattered most to him. He loved being outdoors, especially fishing at his cherished spot on Stony Lake, where he could often be found with night crawlers, a smile, and time to spare. One of his proudest moments was catching a Northern Pike so large it earned a framed place on the wall at the Stony Lake Inn.

Hunting was another passion Joe held close. Deer hunting, whether with bow or rifle, gave him a sense of peace and purpose, and he respected the traditions that came with it.

Joe also enjoyed the camaraderie of slow-pitch softball and spent many years playing in the Stony Lake area league, where friendships were built as much as the game itself.

A true jack of all trades, Joe worked in many fields throughout his life, including construction, masonry, and roofing. Roofing became the trade where he truly shined, allowing him to show his strong work ethic, dedication, and pride in a job done right.

Music was another constant in Joe's life. A lifelong fan of rock and roll, his many concert adventures earned him the nickname "Stubbin Joe," a nod to the ticket stubs he collected and the memories he carried with him.

Joe is survived by: his brothers, Michael T. Dashiell and Paul D. Dashiell; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

In accordance with Joe's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
