Don V. Pebbles, age 77, of New Era passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019.  He was born December 22, 1941 in Texarkana, Texas, the son of Vearl D. Pebbles and Ida Mae (Hansel) Pebbles.

Don was raised in Edwardsville, Illinois.  He served in the U.S. Army and settled in the Detroit area where he began his career in law enforcement.  He married Kathleen (Wier) on July 15, 1988.  He served many years as a deputy sheriff with the Oakland County Sheriff's Department before retiring in 2007.

Don lived in Goodrich, Michigan from 1990 to 2008 when he moved to West Michigan.  Don enjoyed hunting with his son, Timothy and his special friend, Charlie Morgan.  He also enjoyed a monthly retirement breakfast club with Charlie.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; sons, Randall Pebbles and his wife, Erna Jensen of Helena, Montana and Timothy (and wife Theresa) Pebbles of Grand Haven; grandchildren, Delanie Sue Pebbles and Jackson Patrick Pebbles; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jeffrey (Annette) Wier, Lenny (Debbra) Banks, Joe (Janice) Holloway and special friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara Darlene Holloway.

A gathering will be held Saturday, May 4th from 2-5 pm at the family home, 4672 Seymour Drive in New Era.  A ceremonial honor guard police service will be held Sunday, May 5th, 2 pm at Goodrich Cemetery in Goodrich, Michigan.
