Bernice Mildred Aiken, 103, of Walkerville, passed away June 6, 2023.  She was born May 13, 1920, in Colfax Township, one of thirteen children of Chancey and Josephine Patterson.

Bernice married Ormarion Aiken, raising six children together; Louise, Mary Ellen, Phyllis, Donna, Colleen and Charles.  She has a great number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, even some great-great grandchildren.  Bernice was a care giver to all.  If you needed a place to lay your head, she would never say no, even though she didn't have much herself.  She had a heart of gold, but didn't take baloney from anyone either.  She was loved by all.  Bernice loved music and loved to dance.  Her favorite spot in the world was her home.  Bernice loved to say "take me home to the Chauncy Patterson home".  She will be greatly missed; the family was blessed to have her with us for 103 years.

Memorial services will be conducted at 1 pm, Friday, June 30, 2023, at Walkerville Wesleyan Church, 144 S. Hamon Street, Walkerville Michigan 49459.
