Barbara J. Witte, age 83, of Montague, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021 in Whitehall. Barbara was born June 7, 1938 in Mason County to Charles and Nellie Irene (Baxter) LaPree. She moved to Montague during high school and graduated from Montague High School. Barbara worked as a secretary at DuPont Corporation for over thirty-six years before her retirement. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She enjoyed family and grandchildren time. Barbara also enjoyed quilting (especially baby quilts) and sewing.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; her children, Susan (Kevin) Roeten, David Witte, and April (Travis) DeKryger; her grandchildren, Ken (Samantha) Roeten, Jeremy (Ashley) Witte, Amanda (Justin) Gilmore, Kali Roeten, Mason DeKryger, and Cole DeKryger; great-grandchildren, Kruz Roeten, Kage Roeten, Tegan Witte, and Tori Gilmore; her sister, Nancy Walters; and many cousins. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Richard LaPree.

Visitation is Thursday, July 22nd from 6 to 8 pm at St. James Catholic Church in Montague.  The Funeral Mass will be conducted on Friday, July 23rd, 11 am also at the church with Father Peter Omogo as Celebrant.  Interment will be in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Montague.  Memorial: The charity of your choice.
