Barbara Jane Smith, 79, of Rothbury, passed away at home March 4, 2022. She was born July 6, 1942, in Muskegon, the daughter of Lloyd White and LaVern Florence Bennitt.

Barbara was a dedicated homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all, gardening. She looked forward to the Ravenna Sale and visiting friends and family whenever the opportunity came. She was also a survivor; she was diagnosed with cancer several times, but would not let it win.

Barbara is survived by: grandsons, Lloyd (Sara) Smith, Robert Smith, and Daniel Smith; 7 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Jean Mustard.

Barbara was preceded in death by: her loving husband, Robert Smith; sons, Robert "Joe" Smith and Lloyd D. Smith; and her parents.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM, Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Harris Funeral Home, 267 North Michigan Avenue, Shelby, Michigan 49455. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Webster Road, Montague, in the spring.
