Barbara Shirley Holz, age 69 passed away at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Sunday January 31, 2021.  She was born on September 12, 1951 in Elgin Illinois the daughter of George (Bill) and Shirley (Rolf) Holz Jr.

Barb graduated from Clarence M. Kimball High School in Royal Oak and continued her education to become a nurse.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Michigan in 1974 graduating cum laude.  Barb pursued her nursing career in numerous capacities until her retirement.  During her life Barbara enjoyed traveling, camping, swimming, her kitties, playing Scrabble, family gatherings and celebrations, painting, coloring and letter writing to her family members.

Barbara is survived by her brothers George W. (Marge) Holz III of Royal Oak, Michigan, Stephen (Cheri) Holz of Minooka, Illinois and her sister Joan Holz of New Era, Michigan.  She's also survived by her nephews Brian (Jen) Holz, Erik Holz and Larry (Jaclyn) Holz and her nieces Stephanie (Michael) Hubbard, Lorine Estelle Bay and Angelyn (Matthew) Taylor.  She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Mike and Glen Holz.

As were Barbara's wishes she has been cremated.  There will be a graveside service May 15, 4:30 pm at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
