Waldo "Wally" Osborn, age 92, of New Era, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019 in Whitehall. He was born December 30, 1926 in Muskegon, the son of Elliot and Clara (Bonnema) Osborn. Wally was raised in Twin Lake before serving in the Army from 1945 to 1946. He lived in Bridgeton Township in Newaygo County from 1955 to 1979 and moved to Montague and lived there until marrying Joann Riggle in 1985 when he moved to New Era.
Wally was employed at Continental Motors for many years and later drove truck for Dupont for fifteen years before his retirement in 1991. He was a member of New Era Bible Church. He enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren, fishing, flying planes, motorcycling and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Joann; his children, Charlene (Mike) Shear, David (Pam) Osborn, Anne (Tony) Korzenaski, Marcia (Don) Johnson, Paul Osborn, Marie (Jerry) Gadson, Kay (Jerry) Houseman, Mark (Pam) Riggle and Ruth (Chris) Weber; twenty-nine grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Ted Osborn; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Mike Riggle, sister-in-law, Bonnie Osborn and former wife, Evelyn Osborn.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 11th, 10 am to 11 am at New Era Bible Church. The funeral service will follow at 11 am also at the church with Pastor Mike Deblois officiating. Interment will be in New Era Cemetery. Please consider New Era Bible Church, 5308 S. Oceana Drive, New Era, MI 49446 as a memorial.
