Robert "Bubba" J. Holmberg

Robert J. “Bubba” Holmberg, age 69, of New Era, passed away Monday, June 24, 2019 in New Era.  He was born December 11, 1949 in Muskegon to Gordon and Charlotte (Freye) Holmberg.

He was raised in Muskegon and graduated from Mona Shores High School.  Bubba entered the U.S. Army in 1971 and was stationed in Korea.

He married Carole Leutzinger on November 5, 1983.  They lived in Fruitport before moving to New Era in 1990.  He attended the New Era Bible Church.  Bubba had recently retired from Hometown Pharmacy where he was a delivery driver. He enjoyed family times at the cabin, hockey, hunting and fishing and his 1953 Ford.  He was known most of all for his gift of gab.

He is survived by his wife, Carole; and his family, Todd and Lisa VanDonkelaar of Ravenna and Michele and Eric Bloom of California; he was very proud of his beautiful granddaughters, Brooke and Autumn; also survived by his brothers, Richard and Delores Holmberg and Charles and Debra Holmberg; sister, Carol Lange; sisters-in-law, Connie Holmberg, Barbara Fessenden and Betty and Bob Isley; brothers-in-law, Jerry and Margaret Leutzinger and Earl Johnsen; and many caring and helpful nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Gordon Holmberg; niece, Joann Holmberg, nephew, Rick Leutzinger, sister-in-law, Sharon Johnsen, and brothers-in-law, Claire Fessenden and Jim Lange.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 29th from 10 to 11 am at New Era Bible Church.  A memorial service will follow at 11 am also at the church  with Pastors Mike Deblois and Robert Sponable officiating.  Memorials to the New Era Bible Church, 5308 S.
