Priscilla “Pat” Taggart, age 87, of New Era, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was born November 23, 1930 in Farmington, Michigan to Abe and Grettelle (Williams) Johnson.
Pat was raised in Farmington and graduated from Farmington High School. She married Thomas Taggart on January 5, 1952. He passed away August 1, 2001. Pat was very athletic and enjoyed playing golf. She also liked to knit. The Taggarts enjoyed wintering in Avon Park, Florida for many years. Pat was involved in both Girls and Boys Scouts, being a leader for many years. She was very active in her church serving as a Youth Group sponsor as her family was growing up. She was a member of Shelby Congregational United Church of Christ after to moving to New Era.
Mrs. Taggart is survived by her children, Kimberley (Jerry) Fair, Timothy (Julie) Taggart and Theodore (Suzanne) Taggart; grandchildren, Thomas Lienhardt, Kristin Fair and Zachary Taggart; two great-grandchildren; her sister, Elizabeth Henderson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brothers, Burke Johnson and Keith Johnson.
Visitation with the family will be at 10:00 am followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 2nd, at Shelby Congregational United Church of Christ with Pastor Dan Barnum-Steggerda officiating. A luncheon will be served immediately after the service. Memorials may be directed to either Shelby Congregational UCC, 51. E. Third Street, Shelby, MI 49455 or Harbor Hospice, 1050 W.
