Pamela Routley

Pamela Sue Routley, age 50, of Hart, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 20, 2018 in Grand Rapids from a brain aneurysm.  She was born September 20, 1967 in Ludington.

Pamela graduated from Hart High School in 1986.  She started working at the Pink Elephant (aka Sally’s) Restaurant in high school and continued there as a cook for 33 years.  She married Charles Routley on June 23, 2001 in Mears and had two sons, Mathew Benham of Kalamazoo and Mark Benham of Muskegon.

Pamela was a great hugger, selfless, always giving and doing things for others, including her choice to be an organ/tissue donor.  She loved the Lord and was affiliated with Elbridge Community Church, singing in their choir, especially at Easter. She loved visiting waterfalls and being out in nature with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by many who were blessed by her sweet and loving spirit.

She is survived by her husband, Charlie; sons, Mathew (Heather) Benham and Mark (Val) Benham; parents, Martha Thorne and Jerry and Carol Thorne; sisters, Tonya Thorne, Angela M. Smith, Renea Thorne, Alanna Cohoon, Angela R. Smith and Marlena Contreras; brothers, Jeffrey Thorne, Steve (Shannon) Contreras, Alan (Melissa) Contreras, Dan (Amy) Contreras and Nick Contreras; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Helen Thorne and Tony and Elsie (Brimmer) Kucinsky.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 27 beginning at 10 a.m. at Elbridge Community Church with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dennis Hintz officiating. A luncheon will follow at the church, provided by the Pink Elephant Restaurant.  Memorials for family expenses will be appreciated.
