Nathalie A. Grantz, age 93, of Shelby, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 in Hart. She was born December 30, 1924 in Shelby to Frank and Myrtle (Rollenhagen) Plumhoff. Nathalie married Joe Grantz on June 21, 1946 following his return from military service in Europe during World War II.
They lived in Muskegon Heights before returning to the Shelby area, to the family farm in 1961. Mrs. Grantz was a farm wife and worked at Stokley Van Camps in Hart during the summer. She was a member of Shelby United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband on February 11, 2008. Nathalie had resided at Cherry Blossom Manor in Hart the past three and one half years.
She is survived by her children. George (Bonnie) Grantz and Peter (Jean) Grantz; her grandchildren, Jason Grantz. Michael (Kayley) Grantz, Jennifer Grantz, Jordan Grantz, Heather Grantz and Keara Grantz; great-granddaughters, Arianna and Catalina Grantz; and her sister, Ruth Jeffries. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, James Grantz; her brother, Burton Plumhoff; and her sister, Dorothy Aebig.
Visitation is Saturday, January 27th, 10 am until the funeral service at 11 am at Shelby United Methodist Church. Pastor Ann Riegler will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Shelby in the spring. Memorials may be directed to Shelby United Methodist Church, 68 E. Third Street, Shelby, MI 49455.
