Joyce E. Woodbury, born June 16, 1931 to Frank and Lena Weber, was one of five children.
She married Neil Woodbury on August 3, 1952. Neil joined the Michigan State Police and was stationed at several postings as their family grew to eight children.
While in Traverse City, Joyce worked at a local bakery and later at a factory doing assembly for Essex Wire.
Relocating to Hart in 1968, Joyce worked in several fruit processing plants, including Stokelys, Silver Mills and Harris Pie in Shelby.
Joyce became active in the Hart VFW Post #1329, helping with their breakfast and bingo programs, becoming a lifetime auxiliary member. Joyce also had 25 years as a Red Cross volunteer with the blood drive program, working both Hart and Shelby blood drives.
Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, Dale; sisters, Lucille and Edna; and ex-husband, Neil Woodbury.
Joyce is survived by her sister, Dolly; eight children, Larry (Patricia) Woodbury, Mary Kay (Bruce) Dickin, Janiene (Mike) McCormack, Dianna Carrier, David (Kaye) Woodbury, Douglas Woodbury, Rick (Melissa) Woodbury and Robert (Betty) Woodbury; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Joyce passed away on March 5, 2019 at Oceana Medical Care Facility. Private family services will be held.
