Joseph E. "Toad" Harter, Jr.

Joseph E. "Toad" Harter, Jr., age 62, of Ferry Township, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 4, 2018.  He was born October 6, 1955 in Muskegon,the son of Joseph E. and Alma (Rought) Harter.

Joseph spent most of his life in Ferry Township.  He was a truck driver working both independently and for several different companies.  He also worked some in the lumber business.  Joseph  was a prankster and liked to joke around.  He loved chicken, coffee, working outside and tinkering with things.  He had a big heart.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; son, Joseph Harter III; daughter, Mindy Morningstar; friend, Regina Starks; brothers, Shawn, Christopher and Daniel Harter; sisters, Adairnnie and Teraze; and his dogs, CiCi and Tony. He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be no services.
