John "Jack" A. Kokx, age 62, of Pentwater, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 24, 2018. He was born July 16, 1956 in Reed City, the son of Harry and Janet (Musil) Kokx.
Jack was raised in Weare Township and worked at the family business, Weare Supply and Service for twenty-eight years. Later, he was employed for the City of Hart Department of Public Works as a mechanic for eighteen years and drove lift-truck for Indian Summer the last two years.
Jack married Wanda (Haywood) on October 19, 1979. She passed away on November 6, 2003. He married Rebecca "Becky" (Miller) on May 27, 2016. Jack enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and traveling to the Upper Peninsula with Becky. He also loved spending time with his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Becky; his children, Angela (Jordan) Van Liere, Nicholas (Holly) Kokx, Jessica (Jordan) Atwood and Nicole (Ryan) Krikke; his father, Harry Kokx and stepmother, Phyllis Kokx; his brother, David (Nora) Kokx; sister, Beth (Daryl) Alvesteffer; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; mother, Janet Kokx; and his brother, Robby Kokx.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 26th, 6-8 pm at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby and also on Friday, July 27th from 1 pm until the funeral service at 2 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Weare Township. Memorials to Special Olympics, 1133 19th Street NW Washington, DC 20036-3604 are appreciated.
