John Stokes Obituary

John R. Stokes, age 93, of Whitehall, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. He was born October 7, 1924 in Wakefield, Michigan. He was the son of Leonard and Bertha (Whitehead) Stokes. He was a World War II Navy veteran. John was retired from Neway Corporation in Muskegon. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post # 8846 in North Muskegon, Holton American Legion Post # 397 and the Masonic Lodge in Montague.

He is survived by his wife of seventy-one years, Nina; his children, Nancy Hess, John Stokes, Jr. and Jeff Stokes and his number one grandson, Eric Stokes.

There will be no services for Mr. Stokes.
