Jay M. Lipka (a.k.a. Dr. Ski Doo)

Jay M. Lipka (a.k.a. Dr. Ski Doo), age 63 of Montague, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 in Montague.  Jay was born March 15, 1954 in Shelby to Marvin and Delores (Ramthun) Lipka.

Jay was a lifelong resident of the White Lake area.  He had been a truck driver for Viking Foods, Midland Grocery, Roundys, N.J. Fox and White Lake Excavating.  Jay received two rings during his trucking career, each representing one million miles of driving.  Jay was an avid snowmobiler.  He enjoyed snowmobiles in the winter and grass dragging.  He loved the winter season and was also an avid fisherman.  He dearly loved his son and his family.  

Jay is survived by his son, Jacob Lipka; his father, Marvin Lipka; his brothers, Jerry (Barb) Lipka and Jon (Liz) Lipka; nephews, Matt Lipka, Mike (Cassie) Lipka, Kyle (Paige) Morningstar and Jeff Lipka; nieces, Diana Porth, Lynn (Todd) Korstange and Amy Bolling; and great nieces and nephews.  Jay was preceded in death by his mother, and his nephew George Porth.

Per Jay's request, there will be no services. His family will have a private ceremony to spread his ashes at a location of his choice at a later date.
