James A. Musil

James A. Musil, Jr.  age 77, of Hart, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 5, 2017.  He was born June 13, 1940 in Chicago, the son of James A. Musil, Sr. and Mildred (Novacek) Musil.  Jim moved to Hart at the age of four.  

He was raised in Golden Township next door to his current home of fifty-one years.  Jim graduated from Hart High School in 1959.  He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the early 1960's in Kentucky, Korea and Colorado.  He married Ruth Coleson on April 9, 1966.  Jim was employed as a mechanic at Fowler's Mobil Station in Shelby before being employed at the Oceana County Road Commission.  He drove truck at the Road Commission for thirty-one years before his retirement.  Jim enjoyed riding his motorcycle and attended the Blessing of the Bikes in Baldwin every year.  

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; his sons, Brian (Dawn) Musil and Darren (Cathy) Musil; his grandchildren, Natasha, David (Danielle), Wayne and Brianna Musil; and his great-grandchildren, Owen and Carter Musil.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation is Saturday, September 9th, 5 pm with a funeral service to follow at 5:30 pm at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby with Pastor Mark Looman officiating.  Visiting will continue after the service.  Memorials may be directed to LASSI (Lakeshore Animal Shelter Support, Inc.), 2185 W.
