Jack V. Kiel, of Shelby, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 in Muskegon. Jack was born February 16, 1953 in Shelby to Harold and Mildred (Strnad) Kiel.
He graduated from Montague High School and later Western Michigan University. Jack was employed in telecommunications and also owned and managed rental properties. He lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana and later in Bloomington, Illinois before returning to West Michigan.
Jack attended Shelby Congregational United Church of Christ. He enjoyed his time volunteering with the Boy Scouts and a church mission trip to Tennessee. He loved being with his children and grandchildren and cherished his vacation times with his wife, Vicki and the kids to Florida, Montana, New Mexico, Hawaii and other places. Jack appreciated the arts and music, and sunsets at Lake Michigan. He also enjoyed his flower gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki (Knapp Robinson) Kiel; his children, Chad (Laura) Robinson, Cori (Ryan) Klumpp and Jeriad Kiel; his grandchildren, Addison and Ivan Robinson and Owen Klumpp; his twin brother, Gene (Cyndie) Kiel; sisters, Donna Strahl and Sandra Pelton; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Margaret Knapp; brother-in-law, Randy (Mary) Knapp; and very special nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mildred, and brothers-in-law, Robert Strahl and Jack Pelton.
Visitation is Wednesday, April 10th, 5-8 pm at Shelby Congregational United Church of Christ. The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 11th, 11 am also at the church with Pastor Dan Barnum-Steggerda officiating. Please consider the Crystal Valley Care Fund P.O.
