Helen J. Malda left this world on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 to be with her Lord and Savior in her eternal home. She was born October 30, 1933 in Rothbury to Joe and Jenny (Wybenga) Malda. She attended Heitmann School, Shelby High School and Western Michigan Christian High School.
After graduation she worked at Anaconda Copper and Wire in Muskegon for almost thirty years starting as a receptionist and ending as Office Manager. She then worked at Action Industrial Supply in Muskegon for twenty years as Office Manager and accountant.
After a brain aneurysm and several strokes, she resided at the SKLD (Heartland) Nursing Home in Whitehall until her death. Helen was a member of the New Era Christian Reformed Church and enjoyed knitting, reading and loved cats.
She is survived by her brothers, William Malda of Muskegon and Benjamin Malda of Rothbury; sister, Elizabeth Hewitt of Muskegon; sister-in-law, Dena (VanAndel) Malda of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, John Malda and sisters-in-law, Connie Malda and Ruth Malda.
Her funeral will be held at the New Era Christian Reformed Church, 1820 Ray Avenue in New Era on Saturday, August 31st. Visitation is at 10 am at the church with the funeral service to follow at 11 am. Entombment will be in New Era Cemetery.
