Gloria J. Cornelius

Gloria J. Cornelius, age 71, of Bitely and formerly of Shelby, passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 in Hart.  Gloria was born November 1, 1946 in Shelby, the daughter of Fredrick Gowell and Ann Isabell (LaFever) Gowell.

She attended school and lived in the Shelby area until 1984 when she moved to Arkansas.  She married Ronald Cornelius in 1987 and moved back to Shelby at that time.  Gloria had a love for all animals.  She enjoyed sewing, knitting and reading.  She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and also enjoyed following NASCAR. 

She is survived by her husband, Ronald; her children, Leia (Robert) Hasty, Zane (Dawn) Russell and Tracey (Alice) Lamrock; her siblings, Sharon (Eugene) Flanigan, Robert Gowell, Larry Coon and Clarence Baxter; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A service will be held Friday, April 6th, 3 pm at New Hope Community Church, north of Shelby.
