Gerald L. Renkema

Gerald L. “Jerry” Renkema, age 55, of Hart, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017 in Hart.  He was born November 14, 1961 in Holland, Michigan the son of Theodore and Arlene (Heerspink) Renkema. 
 
Jerry was raised in Holland.  He was employed at Bareman’s Dairy for 14 years.  He moved to Rothbury in 2001 and worked at Country Dairy.  Jerry moved to Hart in 2007 and worked for a while at Richard’s Car Wash.  He enjoyed walking on the rail trail, riding his moped and hunting and fishing.
 
Jerry is survived by his life companion, Lisa Frazer; son, Jason (Ashley) Renkema; stepson, Mark Frazer; grandchildren, Wesson and Emma Renkema; brothers, John (Connie) Renkema and Glenn Renkema; sisters, Wanda Renkema and Linda (Bill) Steede; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his son, Aaron Renkema and parents, Ted and Arlene Renkema.
 
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 12th, 10 am until the funeral service at 11 am at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby. A luncheon will follow at New Hope Community Church, 244 S. 79th Avenue, Shelby, MI  49455.  Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Michigan, 5177 W.
