George P. Ohman, age 56, of Montague, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018. He was born April 24, 1962 in Fremont. George was raised in Ferry and graduated from Hesperia High School. He lived in Colorado before returning to Ferry. George married Kathy Langler on June 15, 1984. They lived in Twin Lake and later in rural Montague.
George was employed in small engine repair for Family Farm and Home in Muskegon and most recently worked for them in Cedar Springs. He attended Claybanks United Methodist Church. George was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved to ride his Harley and putter in the garage. His granddaughter, Alexis was the love of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children, Brent (Mandy) Oman, daughters, Lauren Ohman, Sarah Ohman and Amber (Virginia) Miller-Welch; his grandddaughter, Alexis Ohman; sisters, Lisa (Tim) Walters and Kim Ohman (and Rick Whelpley); sisters-in-law, Wendy (David) Van Geison and Tracy (Greg) Barnes; several special nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandmother who raised him, Ruth Baxter.
Visitation is Tuesday, October 9th from 4-6 pm at Claybanks United Methodist Church wih the memorial service to follow at 6 pm also at the church. Please consider Claybanks United Methodist Church, 9197 S. 56th Ave. Montague, MI 49437 as a memorial.
