Florence "Flo" Moschke

Florence "Flo" Moschke, age 74, of Shelby, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 29, 2017 in Muskegon. She was born in Greenford, Ohio to Robert and Virginia (Bullock) Slagle. Flo lived in Ohio until coming to Michigan, to the White Lake area at the age of 1 1/2. She was raised by her grandparents, Phil and Lottie Bullock and graduated from Montague High School, Class of 1960 along with her future husband, Duane. They were married on June 30, 1962.
They lived in Bronson, Michigan from 1969 to 1992 and lived in Holton for a time. They returned to this area and lived in Shelby the past twenty-three years. Flo held numerous jobs and operated Flo's Pizza Place in Bronson for twelve years. She sold ice cream at the county fair in Hart and Allegan many years. She and Duane helped out at Andrew's Blueberry Farm in recent years.
Flo was a member of Shelby United Methodist Church. She will be remembered for the quotes she found and had Duane post on the church sign and for sending many, many greetings cards to people as part of the church ministry and to other people she knew.
She is survived by her husband, Duane; her sons, Duane Moschke, Jr. of Chicago and David Moschke of Shelby; half-brothers and sisters, Bob Slagle, Bill Slagle, Bonnie Mrasek, Barbara Johnson and Linda Sangadorn;brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert and Diane Keeler, Gordon and Marilyn Moschke and Scott Moschke; several cousins and nieces and nephews in Ohio and Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, her brother, Dennis Slagle and half-brother, Frank Pietras.
Visitation is Thursday, January 4th from Noon until the funeral service at 1 pm at Shelby United Methodist Church with Pastor Anne Riegler preaching and Pastor Peggy Boltz as eulogist. Interment will be in Benona Township Cemetery in the spring. Memorials for family expenses are appreciated.
