Elsie M. Dollaway

Elsie M. Dollaway, age 84, of New Era, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 at home.  She was born March 20, 1933 in Shelby to Owen and Elizabeth (Opalis) Pulsipher was raised in Hesperia.  She married Frank Hovey on October 31, 1949.  He passed away June 22, 1973.  She married Louis Dollaway on June 28, 1974.  He passed away January 24, 1994.

Elise worked as a nurses aid at Oceana County Medical Care Facility and had also worked at Stokely and Tempotech.  She volunteered at the Good Samaritan and loved to shop at thrift shops.  She loved to fish, travel, dance and play bingo.

Elsie is survived by her children, Nancy (Raymond) Helmer, Roger (Maryjane) Hovey, Charlene (Tom) Larson, Gary (Carmen) Hovey, Kathy (Charlie) Mann, Randy (Jean) Hovey, Tammie Hovey and Pammie (Dave) Pellegrom; brother, Harry Pulsipher; eighteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her husband, Louis; her parents; brothers, Tom, Art, Bill, Lyle, Wes and Francis; and sisters, Charlotte, Vennie and Lavina.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2-4 & 6-9 pm at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby.  The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 26, 11 am at the funeral home.  Interment:  Ferry Township Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association, 1475 E. 12 Mile Road, Madison Heights, MI  48071.
