Eletha M. Fleming, age 86, of Shelby, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at home. She was born June 21, 1932 in Shelby to William T. Slagle and Rose Sypher Slagle.
She was raised in Hart and moved to Shelby upon her marriage to Wayne Fleming on September 15, 1951. Eletha was a member of Shelby Road Baptist Church. She enjoyed family times with her children and grandchildren, crocheting and woodworking. She also enjoyed baking, crafts and playing cards.
Eletha is survived by her children, Steve (Barb) Fleming, Pamela (Alan) Payne, Julie (Kim) Tate and Luann (Mitchell) Bouwkamp; her grandchildren, Joshua (Amie) Fleming, Heidi (Ryan) Fekken, Megan (Paul) Fessenden, Lisa (Kyle) Kirker, Benjamin (Margie) Payne, Michael (Jen) Payne, Phillip (Christa) Payne, Amanda (Nathan) Meissner, Erin (Matthew) DeVries, Jeff (Kelly) Payne and Shelly (Rusty) Jarka; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wayne on November 18, 1998, her son, Roger Fleming, and her brothers, William and Floyd Slagle.
Visitation is Sunday, September 23rd, 5-8 pm at Harris Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held Monday, September 24th, 10 am at Shelby Road Baptist Church until the funeral service at 11 am also at the church. Pastor Robert McNeil will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Shelby. Please consider Hospice of Michigan or Pastor Mark Sterken's Haiti Project as a memorial.
