Dennis Ray Griffis

Dennis R. Griffis, age 50, of Hart, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018.  He was born March 24, 1967 in Shelby.  Dennis was raised in Des Moines, Iowa.  He lived there for twenty years before moving back to Michigan.  Dennis had lived in Scottville, Shelby and Hart.  He also spent time back in Iowa.  He had been employed at Val Du Resort in Mears and also at Hansen Foods in Hart.  

Dennis is survived by his mother, Marilyn Reeves of Shelby; his son, Kyle Ellis of Ankeny, Iowa; stepson, A.J. (Karli) Grantland of Walhalla, Michigan; siblings, Lynann (Danny) Ruggero of Ludington, Tim (Christie) Griffis, Raymond (Kim) Griffis and Mike (Leslie) Griffis, all of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and  several aunts. uncles,  nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Griffis.

A visitation will be held Saturday, March 17th, from 3-5 pm with a time of sharing at 4 pm at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby.  Please come with a favorite story about Dennis to share.  Interment will take place in Mears Cemetery at a later date.
