Angela J. (Burmeister) Pevic

Angela Jean Pevic, age 88, of Shelby, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 12, 2019.  Just recently, she had been ill with the return of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in the fall of 2017.  Mom’s cancer journey began back in September of 1995. Through treatments she was deemed cancer free by March of 1996. However, radiation scaring in 2002 caused her digestive tract to be compromised and another set of problems followed.  No one should have to go through these difficulties. Mom suffered a lot and we are glad she has been set free.

Angela was born on August 20, 1931. She married Bill Pevic on October 20, 1951. She and her husband Bill had been long time fruit growers in Benona Township. She loved living in the country, growing her own vegetables and canning the many kinds of fruit grown on their farm. She enjoyed the theatre and had season tickets at the Cherry County Playhouse while it was at the Frauenthal Center in Muskegon.  Cooking, flower gardening, reading, and traveling were also some of her favorite things. Her brother Bill faithfully visited Angela 2 to 3 times each week. Towards the end she also appreciated visiting with friends and playing cards. She was married to Bill until his passing in 1986. She was also preceded in death by her parents Martin and Anna Burmeister and son-in-law Richard Rodenhouse. 

Angela will be lovingly remembered by her children, Deborah Rodenhouse; Patricia (Thomas) Inglis; Larry (Christine) Pevic and her grandchildren Ryan (Sara) Rodenhouse; Karen (Eric) Kelder; Michael (Kristina) Inglis; Lindsey (Thomas) Rossiter; Steven and David Pevic; and her great-grandchildren Ethan, Aiden and Ashton Rodenhouse; Grace and Gavin Kelder; Mason and Austin Inglis and Elise and Jase Rossiter. She is also survived by her brother Bill (Barb) Burmeister and a niece and 3 nephews.

We thank both the nursing staffs at the White Lake Assisted Living and Harbor Hospice for their compassionate care given to our mother. It was greatly appreciated.

Visitation is Monday, October 28th, 11 am with a funeral service to follow at noon at Harris Funeral Home at 267 N Michigan Ave. Shelby, MI 49455. A luncheon will immediately follow the funeral service. Interment will be in Benona Township Cemetery.  Please consider Harbor Hospice, 1050 W. Western Ave. Muskegon, MI 49441 as a memorial.
