Norma A. Burke

Norma A. Burke, age 69, of Hesperia, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017 in Muskegon.  She was born October 24, 1947 in Muskegon, the daughter of Joseph and Lula (Guimond) DeCheney.

Norma was raised in Muskegon and moved to Hesperia in 1972.  She married Raymond Burke on June 30, 1973.  Norma was a custodian at Hesperia Public Schools for many years. She also baked wedding cakes and did cosmetology on the side. She enjoyed family times, card playing and working on projects.  Ray preceded her in death on February 21, 1995.

Norma is survived by her daughters, Annette (Ray) Gilbert, Rhonda Bancroft and Ranee Billings; her grandchildren, Tonya (Curtis) Zack, Olin Gilbert, Tyler Billings and Tucker Billings; great-grandchildren, Timmy Gilbert, Connor Zack and Erik Zack.  Besides her husband, Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, Patrick; sons-in-law, Rodney Billings and Tim Bancroft, Jr; brothers, Melvin, Fredrick "Fritz", Louis "Bob", Ken and John DeCheney;  and sisters, Sandy Risthouse and Beverly Fitzgerald.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, July 29th, from 11 am to 1 pm at Harris Funeral Home in Shelby.  The funeral service will be held Saturday, 1 pm also at the funeral home with Pastor Paulette Zoulek  officiating.  Interment is in Ferry Township Cemetery.   You may leave a message for the family at www.harrisfhome.com
