Lyle "John" Puffer

May 29, 1942 ~ June 25, 2017 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Lyle John Puffer, 75, of Muskegon (formerly of Hart and Ferry) passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 at home surrounded by family after a two-year battle with cancer.  He was born May 29, 1942 in Muskegon to Niley and Mabel (Seguin) Puffer.

He went by his middle name of John.  John graduated from Shelby High School in 1961.  On November 2, 1963, he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Linda (Lipski) Puffer.  They were married for 53 years and have two children, Tim and Kristi.  John was employed by Kaydon Corporation for 33 years as a machinist.  His favorite hobby was golf.  He also enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with family and friends.  He loved to talk to people and make them laugh.  His greatest joy in life, however, was spending time with his grandson, Max.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Puffer; his children, Tim (Mardie) Puffer and Kristi (J.R. Mears) Burns; grandchild, Max Puffer; step grandchild, Aaron Mears; siblings, Barbara Burmeister, Marge (Jim) Peterman and Don Puffer; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Niley and Mabel Puffer; and siblings, Bob Johnson and Carol Puffer.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, July 1st at 2 pm at Lake Harbor United Methodist Church, 4861 S. Henry Street in Muskegon.  Visitation will be from 1 pm until the time of the service at the church.
