Imagene I. Huston

Imagene I. Huston, age 99, of New Era, went to be with her Lord on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility in Hart.

Imagene was born in Claybanks Township on May 29, 1918 to John and Blanche (Allen) LaFevre.  She moved to Muskegon at the age of seven and moved back to Oceana County at the age of fourteen.  She married Kenneth Huston on September 19, 1947.  They farmed in New Era and had no children of their own but raised eleven foster children.

Imagene worked as a dress sales woman at Federal Department Store for several years.  She was also a cook at BMA Camp (Stony Lake) and was a missionary for Child Evangelism Fellowship for twenty-three years.

Ken passed away on October 22, 1964.  Imagene was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Leon LaFevre; and sisters, Lavina Bosse and Effie LaFevre.  She is survived by her sisters, Pat Rager of Florida and Faith (Dale) Uithoven; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 20th, 10 am to 11 am at the New Era Bible Church.  The funeral service will follow on Thursday, 11 am also at the church with Pastor Mike Deblois officiating.  Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Shelby.  Memorials to Child Evangelism Fellowship are appreciated.  Arrangements by Harris Funeral Home in Shelby.  You may leave a message for the family at www.harrisfhome.com
